I Guess I Am Keeping SueCanDo

Took off this morning to go take SueCanDo Discovery to the consignment lot. Got to where it has been parked for 10 days while I cleaned it and fixed a few small things (with help of my big brother, of course!). First problem? Nephew's neighborhood without power. I only had the garage door code so couldn't get in to get the back-up set of keys... oh well.

Then while backing it out of the drive, ran over the neighbor's recycling bin... oops. And made a divot in their yard - will be replaced tomorrow. Yes, I put all the plastic back in the not-smashed bin, but the newspaper bin needs to be recycled! LOL

Then, the rain - oh yes, big, big drops... all the way to the Certified Weigh Scales that was required for consignment. Big puddles in the parking lot, soaked my shoes and a foot up my jeans. It's OK, just one more stop before PPL consignment lot. I get to the Texas Safety Inspection shop and now it is really pouring. Takes him a few minutes to brave the rain, go inspect the big diesel and cha-ching... another few bucks and I have all the paperwork I need.

Get to PPL by 2pm as scheduled. Juan goes and reviews the RV, checks for personal belongings and scratches? The scratches were there when I bought it last year. What about all the things I have done to it in the past year? Guess just "normal maintenance". I was hoping he would say between $24K and $30K as I have seen online for my used model. Nope.... he says "looks like we could ask $14K to $17K"... half of what I paid last year, before I put all this new "maintenance" stuff on it!!!!!!!!! Shocked didn't even describe the look on my face.

Quickly had a conversation with big brother and decided I have far too much invested now to just give her away. So found an RV park with an opening and drove her there... in the rain, on the Houston tollway, nearly rush hour traffic... geez. What a day. And all I did was for naught. And all I emptied from her is spread in "temporary storage" all over Houston. Guess I will pull it all back together tomorrow and try another option. Thoughts? LOLOLOL

Say a few prayers as I can't even think straight... I didn't know she wouldn't be on the PPL this evening, it didn't occur to me they would state such a low asking price.... another lesson learned!

About Me
Photo of author

SueCanDo, named by a dear friend who departed this planet much too young, will strive to be a place for inspiration, clarity and enlightenment. My friend and I  had just reconnected and were having daily emails and weekly conversations that lasted long into the early mornings.

Still hundreds of miles away, I was looking forward to finally spending quality time with him after decades of missing his stories and hugs in person. A brief weekend in April, 2018, confirmed we were going to have many great adventures. Then he had an accident on one of his favorite motorcycles on one of his favorite roads after having just eaten his favorite hamburger at his favorite joint on 101 in northern CA. The shock has worn off, but I still miss what should have been.

So Mike, thanks to you and your "beady brain", here is SueCanDo, even without you the name lives on!

And, these are the Grand Adventures, after the Grand Purge, leading up to quality time with my Grand Babies!! This is a record for them to one day review and laugh with "Gammie"!
