As you all know, because if you are like me have received dozens of well-meaning emails from various connections, we are under lock down, or self quarantine, or stay where you are.
While this may be easy for land-locked renters or homeowners, it is not the same for full-time RV'ers who live on wheels "home is where you park it" people. Especially when things like campgrounds and tourist attractions shut down. Not all of us are in our mobile-homes with a permanent parking space. We are nomads. We wander from lot to lot to work, to rest, to play or to volunteer time in exchange for a parking space.
We need power, water and occasionally a place to dump our black water (toilet waste). We may need propane to heat water, wash dishes or take a quick washcloth bath. We may need fuel to get to another driveway where someone is willing to share their yard. But mainly, we need food like everyone else......and we can't go through the drive-in window. We can't usually find a place to park if a grocery store has designed their parking lots for few numbers of vehicles. We usually HAVE to go to a Walmart. Not to spend the night as some do, but because we are most likely to find all the strange supplies we need for our "homes", in addition to food. We can't stock-up as we have little to no storage, so we need to go often.
In these challenging times for all of us, please be considerate if you see a rig in a parking lot - we are just doing our best to survive without a permanent home, with little storage and different needs than you may be experiencing. Namaste! Blessings to you and all mankind!
