Two weeks to go 600 miles!

Yep, took off March 1 from Plymouth, California, only 45 minutes from the grandkids to head to Scottsdale for girls weekend - which doesn't start until March 15! So I have two weeks to go 600 miles.

First stop was KOA in Visalia hoping to be able to run over to Sequoia National Park a few days and hike. But that couldn't happen because of rain, snow chains required on truck tires and just overall too cool weather. Here's Isabella when it rained there (every day!)

And here is a picture of SueCanDo at the KOA campground (that had a nice dog park!).

So then a few hours south, very windy conditions, we stopped for the evening in Barstow, California, which I didn't know at the time but is the most "violent" city in California according to one of "those lists" published online intentionally to make you look and "view" the advertisements. We had no issues at the quaint little Route 66 stop, Shady Acres RV Overnight Park. The only issue was the next morning, due to all of the rain there as well, the septic was full and it took forever to empty my tank - yuk!

Now we are at Moon River RV Park in Mohave Valley. Beautiful sunny days, cool evenings, some breeze. Yesterday was mid-70's (finally!!!) and today low 70's. I am so thankful to finally be warm and dry. Last night was the most fun - "regulars" at the park, and some from another park, always get together and play Live Music. This was anything from Janis Joplin, to Neil Young, to Merle Haggard, Nitty Gritty Dirt Bank... anything "old"! Fun to sing-along. The eldest was a 91 yr old still strumming and singing Hank William's classics. When you visit here, you MUST go. I won't publish all but it was a pitch-in and alcohol was involved.

Sunday we leave for Salome - where I understand nearly a million RV'ers converge between there and Quartzite every winter... this should be another memorable experience.

Happy Trails -

Sue

SueCanDo, named by a dear friend who departed this planet much too young, will strive to be a place for inspiration, clarity and enlightenment. My friend and I  had just reconnected and were having daily emails and weekly conversations that lasted long into the early mornings.

Still hundreds of miles away, I was looking forward to finally spending quality time with him after decades of missing his stories and hugs in person. A brief weekend in April, 2018, confirmed we were going to have many great adventures. Then he had an accident on one of his favorite motorcycles on one of his favorite roads after having just eaten his favorite hamburger at his favorite joint on 101 in northern CA. The shock has worn off, but I still miss what should have been.

So Mike, thanks to you and your "beady brain", here is SueCanDo, even without you the name lives on!

And, these are the Grand Adventures, after the Grand Purge, leading up to quality time with my Grand Babies!! This is a record for them to one day review and laugh with "Gammie"!
