What happened in 2023?

Writer: SueCanDoSueCanDo

Well, I went back to Flaming Gorge Resort fly shop. While I love the family that owns and runs the place, and enjoy many of the employees, guides, customers and locals.... I was very tired of folding t-shirts and extremely disgusted with many of the tourists. The job just lost its fun, exciting feel of adventure and became a "job". Well, as my friends know, once something becomes monotonous and routine, I examine my "why" and chose to leave early. I feel a little guilty that I didn't keep my commitment to stay the season, but my attitude wasn't improving and no way should someone with an attitude be customer facing! It was best for all that I come home to Mountain Home. Once here, I learned my family needed some help moving, so off to Toledo I went. Then to Virginia. Then back to Arkansas!

And then said "if you are going to work, do it for more than $15/hr"... Happy to report one of my previous employers offered me a position! I am back in the corporate world, being a data geek again.. for a few years. It helps to have income that covers the current price of gas, too!

I do not know what is next.. plenty of options. Tell me about your "next"! Until then...

Thanks to all who follow my adventures! Love you!

About Me

SueCanDo, named by a dear friend who departed this planet much too young, will strive to be a place for inspiration, clarity and enlightenment. My friend and I  had just reconnected and were having daily emails and weekly conversations that lasted long into the early mornings.

Still hundreds of miles away, I was looking forward to finally spending quality time with him after decades of missing his stories and hugs in person. A brief weekend in April, 2018, confirmed we were going to have many great adventures. Then he had an accident on one of his favorite motorcycles on one of his favorite roads after having just eaten his favorite hamburger at his favorite joint on 101 in northern CA. The shock has worn off, but I still miss what should have been.

So Mike, thanks to you and your "beady brain", here is SueCanDo, even without you the name lives on!

And, these are the Grand Adventures, after the Grand Purge, leading up to quality time with my Grand Babies!! This is a record for them to one day review and laugh with "Gammie"!
